I did my master’s in information technology from Srinagar, where every six months brought a new programming language to learn. Just as I was starting to get the hang of one language, another would be introduced. The whole process felt burdensome, and I never enjoyed it. I wanted to find a way to apply my learning, so I took an introductory course in cybersecurity online. The topics caught my interest, and I wanted to learn more.
A friend suggested me to try for CyberShikshaa, so I looked it up, found it intriguing, and applied.
Within a month, I was in the CyberShikshaa classroom at NIELET, Srinagar, learning about networks, attacks, cryptography, web security, and penetration testing. The course was designed in a way that even a beginner could pick up the skills and start building a career in security. As I went through the program, I grew more confident in my understanding, and it became the biggest learning curve in my career so far.
What made CyberShikshaa truly stand out were the group discussions and mock interviews. These experiences helped me overcome my public speaking fears. As a fresh graduate with little knowledge about job hunting or interviews, CyberShikshaa came as a blessing. I’m deeply thankful to everyone involved in making this course possible.
Right now, I am working at Teleperformance in Gurugram.
Looking back, I realize that I couldn’t see myself writing code for the rest of my life.
Cybersecurity gave me a sense of purpose that coding never did, and for that, I’m truly grateful.
